Three Places to Live in Talange

Program: Multiple houses
Supervised by: Pierre Engel
At: École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Paris-Val de Seine

Overview: Talange, France is a rural commuter town. A site site in the middle of a large expanse of feilds, a river, and at the edge of a constructed series of dwellings along streets. Here the goal is to provide three good places to live. Simplistic building methods of timber stick-framing and a steel base is raised off the ground to combat flooding.

« When I was young, my ambition was to be one of the people who made a difference in this world.
My hope still is to leave the world a little bit better for my having been here.
It is a wonderful life and I love it. »
